Lorraine Pentello Sex and Trauma Therapy, Melbourne
My approach to therapy…
Our emotions are felt as sensations in the body, not just thoughts in the head, so working with our bodies as well as our minds is essential in the healing process.
Finding the right combination of therapies at the right time to fit the person and meeting them where they’re at, works far better than trying to squeeze someone to fit into a specific modality.
I believe it's important for a practitioner to have firsthand experience of how therapies work while being a client themselves, especially when working with trauma. I know how hard it can be, and how the path isn’t a linear one, but it does get easier, I promise.
We will work together as a team to find the peace and pleasure that is inside of your body just waiting to be discovered…
To borrow an analogy from Laurel Parnell PhD:
“Our true self of love, compassion and confidence is always there, shining inside us like the sun. Trauma is like the clouds that obscure. The sun is always there, but we can only see it when we clear away the clouds.”
